POLL: Do you know someone who is a millionaire?

Since it's pretty obvious that no one here is a millionaire (except Anand) do you actually know someone who is a millionaire?

My brother in law is. Mostly through stock options. But he is earning 300k+ also.

if you mean ... adding up their property value + investments + liquid assests...
then yes i know a LOT of them..

if you are just talking what they can lay their hand on immediately, then the # goes down a lot.

Im pretty one of my Aunt's is a millionaire. I know she was making ~500k/yr(OB/GYN) and she was working for 15 years or so. If you include houses and stuff my parents would qualify, they've got two houses one worth about 900K and another close to 500K.

my parents (mom = pediatrician who just opened her own practice; dad = bio-medical engineer/audiologist with 3 hearing aid offices)

they own 8 properties (2 californian homes, 4 californian townhouses, 1 apartment/flat in india, 1 house in india)

My folks are, well I am too I guess, but they are back in India, I never felt that way though growing up, and still dont, I am living and working here in the US, have had to earn everything myself, its a good feeling

Yes. One of my classmate's father is a local judge who makes 500k a year.

definitely my grandmother... my grandfather left her a lot of money and god knows she hasn't spent any of it.

and probably my parents if you're looking at total worth (house, investments, retirement savings, etc). they don't really touch anything, though. it's there for when they retire or to pass on to my sister and I.

I know a few.
Two of them work for the same company I work for, and are in similar pay grades to me. (one got inheritance, one married a woman who was already very wealthy.)

I make just enough money to afford morgage on a small townhouse in the Western burbs of Chicago, so I know for a fact that their wealth did not in any way shape or form come from their current employment...

Yeah, an Indian family, mother is a pathologist and the father is a ... I forget... maybe cardiologist. The son (Sammit, the one I know) is in medical school. I've been in their house and of course, was insanely jealous. I'm sure there are a few others... but I can't be positive.
