How do you mean by illegal? I know lots of people who use legit versions of XP but "borrow" corporate CD Keys.

Because I'm a programmer myself and would hate to be ripped off for the hard work I've done.

Two legit copies here.

I'm using one legal and one illegal right now. The second legal copy is en route as we speak so I will be 100% legit soon.

You know...it seems like MS has done itself even more damage with the whole activation thing. More people might would buy it if you were able to reformat as much as you want.

However, most people who refer to the "corporate edition" are pirates. Legit people refer to it as VLK or Volume Licence edition in my experiences. :)

Don't you need the corporate CD to use the corporate keys? You can't use a regular copy with a corporate key, can you?

And isn't that violating the licensing? In my eyes, it's still wrong but I could care less :)

Ew, no, my friends are retarded enough to use Win 2000 Pro.

Fixed that for ya.

There is nothing essentially wrong with windows 2000 Professional

It's what it LACKS that people should have quams with.

I have purchased each and every copy for all 4 of my systems (2 XP PRO 2 XP HOME). I do, however, know several people (10+) that have an PRO version that does not require activation, can be installed an unlimited amount of times and can be updated without any problems whatsoever.

They are cool with it I'm not.

For the people that voted no. You do know ATOT don't you?

Based on that fact alone, I voted yes. I know of more than two people on ATOT :p

Legit WinXP Pro here. Well, semi legit in that I didn't earn the money and go out and buy it. MS just GAVE it to me at a student/teacher conference. Along with a full version of Visual Studio.NET including an academic CD full of how-to's. :D
