When people commit a "crime" like this, they can't seem to keep quiet about it.

Of course, there are some people that do have more self restraint, and will tend to avoid bragging about their own or other's exploits.

I know a lot of people who got Win XP pro for free through their school, but still installed the pirated one. Most schools with alliance with MSDN will give most of MS software for free if you are an engeneering student.

yup same here but with my parents I just loaded a clean version with my bowrowed version to save them the hassel of the crappy HP restore disk. I'm guessing for every retail copy of xp that is sold 5 are pirated. (this doesn't include OEM which is where MS makes allt hier money anyway)

Yep. At least 6 personally. All of them came from a single download of the bulk licensed corporate version of XP Pro.
