What's up with all you wussies who can't tie a tie? It's no more difficult than tying your shoe.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume you can all tie your shoes?

I can do it but only one way. Don't know if it's the Windsor or something else.

When I started my first full time job, I showed up in a tie... then they told me they went to business casual the week after I showed up for my interview... so I never had to learn for myself. And now I work from home... just never had the need... but shoes on the other hand...

What did you do during the first week? Good lord. My Step Dad showed me how to tie a tie once. That's pretty much all it took. God, if you do it yourself a couple times trying to get the length right you should have it down.

I guess there aren't that many jobs now that require it but you should still be able to dress yourself by age 20...IMHO.

nothing to do with being a wuss, it has to do with the fact that i have to put one on less then once a year, i have to wear one so infrequently that i dont bother learning how

YES i can tie my own shoes, i tie them once because i never un tie them, i just slip them on and off, i actually wish they still made velcro shoes that fit adults

yup. 4 years of prep school where we had to wear suits/ties every day to class.

not counting weddings and funerals, though, I haven't worn a tie since graduation.

Me as well. I am sure that once I wear them more often than once a week I'll get more proficient at it.

Yeah I can tie my own tie. It's really not that hard and even if you dont do it that often, it sure beats asking your dad how to do it
