Once I saw the W with Herbert in front of it, I suddently remembered what it was. Coudln't come up with it off the top of my head though.

Wasn't it just "S"

I seem to remember reading once about a debate caused by this on whether
to use a period after it or not.

And the reason for the S I believe was a compromise between both sides of his
family.


as For Dubya since his dad was Herbert Walker, I originally assumed (correctly)
the W was the same.

Now that I think about it, I know a fair amount of presidential middle names and I'm not entirely sure why.

Thats the compromise I was talking about, couldn't remember the grandfather's names.
