my mom tried to get her online with email and all... she won't even turn on the computer... she calls and my mom will be like i emailed you.. and she'll just be like oh... well it's not on
my grandmother is an information freak - she reads the paper from front to back - and has like 30 old papers to prove it (when she gets behind). My dad and I are convinced she would love the internet..she's afraid of becomin addicted (too late for me, hehe)
I know lots of people who don't use the internet - people of all ages from my grandparents, parents and even two of my sisters have never touched the internet. A couple of my friends have also never used the net. I think its gonna be a couple of years yet before its even a small part of some peoples lives.
I know a few who don't, but I know exactly how I feel without Internet. Or even without high-speed connection, actually. I had to use DIAL-UP for 2 weeks and I felt like I lost an arm.
Though if you met my grandparents you would understand why they don't even own a computer. Very simple lives, not that they wouldn't if they
needed to use one but they just don't need one. As for my friend... well that is just one I don't understand. He has an older computer but he gave it to
his girlfriend for her kids to use but doesn't touch it himself.
My dad.. who is 72, and wants no part of it, at least for now. My mom is starting to get the hang of it, and just sent me her first email yesterday. I gave her my old iMac just so she could do this.. "How do I turn it on?"
