Poll: Do you have SLI or Crossfire

I'm curious to see how many ATers are using multi GPU solutions these days.

Please:

1. I don't want to discuss the merits of either in this thread.

2. I would like only Crossfire or SLI owners to respond, and post in the thread which you're using. I'll personally only consider responses with posts valid as anyone can vote in a thread, but if we see you have a Voodoo2 in your rig, we'll be skeptical.

3. I don't care if you post "I have Crossfire and no issues for me so far" or the same for SLI. I just don't want to see "I feel SLI is bad due to no Windows 3.1 support" and the like.

Update: Sorry Crossfire owners. Wannabe's had to spoil your right to be counted, but if you post your rig that would be great.

So we've got two guys with SLI who actually let people know who they are, and two unbacked votes for Crossfire, apparently from trolls who want to screw up the thread.

Congratulations ATI backers! Showing your usual class.

Any actual Crossfire owners out there?

I have a pair of 7800GTs, although I'll be going back to a single card once the G71 comes out. I guess I technically have two SLI rigs, since my retro game computer has two Voodoo2s. :D

if you're gonna be rude [as usual], why not take down the poll? . . . that way you'll get the results you want . . .

btw, there are many more sli owners than xfire owners . . . it has been out much longer and is comparatively more mature.

try your poll again a a year ;)

btw, i voted - "View Results"

Steelers have an early lead
:D

EDIT: Make a Suggestion to have sli/xfire MB included in AT System Rigs

What a worthless thread.

i dunno . . . i am just curious as to what the OP is trying to prove

SLi has been in development for many years and is nVidia's innovation . . . otoh, ATi only started work on xfire after SLI was successfully launched . . . and is playing 'catch up' . . . what is amazing to me is that ATi is "almost there" with a competitive solution . . .

xfire has only been available a few weeks . . .

again, what's the point, Rollo?

EDIT: those poll results are NONSENSE . . . NO way it's 5 to 5

nVidia's innovation?

OH, because they're the FIRST company to implement SLI! Right. Gotcha.

Rollo face it you're not going to get accurate results with a poll like this, just suggest that it be part of AT system rigs then we can see some more accurate numbers

no - 3DFX did the original SLI [which is quite different from nVidia's today] . . . ATi followed with the Radeon MAXX . . .

i shoulda said nVidia's successful innovation

sorry

Apparently we have five SLI owners who have responded in the less than one hour since posted and no Crossfire owners.

Any Crossfire owners on AT?

Anyone?

BTW- why are single GPU owners in this thread at all and apparently voting for Crossfire? I sort of specifically noted I wasn't interested in anything any single gpu owner has to say about this subject?

Obviously because:

Stop the presses...there are more SLI owners running multi-gpu than Crossfire Owners running multi- GPU by a large margin: no poll needed

Your thread serves only to fullfill some personal need apparently.

Update: although a thread like "SLI or Crossfire...and post your pics...w/poll!" really would be interesting, now and then again later on.

Who cares what you are interested in? You do not own nor control this forum.

PNY 7800GT in SLI here. Stable at 500/1200 in all but Lineage 2 (which is only stable at 480/1150 or less).

I'd apologize for being about to take this thread OT, but I don't see as how that can be made any worse at this point. If you think the thread is useless, quit replying in it and bumping it back up to the top. If nobody cares about it, it will die. Who cares what Rollo's purpose was when he created the thread? All of you idiots are just assuming he's trying to show nV > ATI by the poll results. What if he truly just wants to see how many multi GPU setups there are out there? It's a valid question since many of the die-hard AGPers claim that PCI-E's only benefit right now is multi-GPU and that it is such a small portion of the market. Maybe it's not such a small market anymore.

Either way, if you have no interest in a particular thread, don't post in it. If you think it's uselss, don't post in it and it won't continue to see the light of day.

If this thread had been started by anybody other than Rollo, none of you would have replied the way you did. Morons.

Want proof?

That new Asus board really kind of makes me shake my head... If you have a PCI sound (like you do), you have to put it in between the vdeo cards. That kind of defeats the purpose of having two slots between the cards IMO. What were they thinking?

Nice rig all the same though. Where did you get your Opteron 175 from? I went up to Monarch (I'm local), and they didn't have any in stock. I got an X2 4400+ instead, but it was more expensive than the OEM Opteron 175.

BTW... Rollo, your poll would make more sense if you had icluded a vote for single card as well. Getting a single number (assuming that the votes are accurate) doesn't really give you much info. If you had the number of single card vs. dual card owners, you could get the percentage, which IMO would be a much more interestng number.
