In reference to this thread, did you notice that there's actually *a lot* less spam coming in?

I just find it weird to actually not see 20+ junk mail waiting to be cleared everyday 🙂 Did MS just improved the spam-blocking engine or did some new legislation just took place? 😕

To all of you Hotmail haters, I agree that the new interface sucks among many other gripes. But I've been using this account since 1996 and I find it extremely hard to switch to a new account 🙁 But I am in the midst of setting up a new email server in my domain and I'll try to start from there 🙂
 
MS's "improved" spam tool sucks. I still get 40+ spam messages per day.

The new interface sucks.

I keep using it because I often switch domains/isps and like having one solid valid e-mail addy that will be with me forever (or as nearly so as anything on the internet is.)

Of course I filter on subjects containing any of the following: a, o, i, u, e, r, s, n, y, w

Works like a charm, no spam at all. Or anything else for that matter.
 
i'm down from about 10-15, to 3-5 a day. i think that spam legistlation did pass.

the new interface is cleaner, but it's a little slower because it's using java. i don't mind much though. only thing i mind is that my verizon@msn account is the exact same thing as a hotmail account. you would think paying for dsl gets you a better email account.
 
Just cleared it out for the first time in weeks. I'll check back in another few days and see if it's down from the 20+ it was getting before.
 
The amount of spam is definitely reduced. I used to get 50-100 spam emails per day and am down to roughly 10 percent of what I used to get.

I should add a filter for "Paris" and I could probably get rid of half the spam I'm getting now.

I normally get 20-40 spam emails per day, this morning, I had ONE. Seems to be working for me.

liar, you should still get spam that say XXX!
 
I went from 30 messages a day to 1 every 3 days. I've been participating in the Junk mail sampling since they started that and I've been an accountholder since 97. This is the best junkmail has been since microsoft got control :beer:
