[POLL] - Do you have a Health Club membership?

Do you belong to the Y or a fitness club or anything like that which has a monthly fee and you go there to take a fitness class or work out...

We belong to the Y and try to go twice a week to certain classes that we enjoy. Just wondering about everyone else.

I belong to two, a YMCA and I have a membership for the smaller gym at my work. Probably go about 5 days, with an off day in which I do so more abs, then the last day as a "true" off day, with nothing.

no.

I really want to, but I'm like super intimidated by the prospect of going to a gym (mostly because I've never been and don't know wtf anything is or how anything works). I get my exercise in around my apartment and biking/walking on a regular basis.

No, have a baby and money is a precious commodity that's in short supply.

I counter this by getting fatter as the days pass.

Get a few sessions with a trainer or sign up for some small group training (which is more affordable).

there's a recreation center run by the county with pools/weights/track/gym/etc that I go to twice a week, but there's no monthly fee or membership or anything. you just pay whenever you show up, or you can pay in advance for X entrances.

you can get a yearly membership though, that if you go enough it becomes a better deal, but if I just prepay for entrances I can share them (e.g. with my wife) whereas each person would need a separate annual membership.

I do pay a monthly fee elsewhere for a martial arts class that I do twice a week also.

It's intimidating at first but the equipment you have access to is totally worth it. Either go with a buddy who can show you the ropes or get a few training classes. Some gyms will even give you a free consultation and make a workout plan for you and show you how to use the equipment.

Yup, I try for 4-5 days a week. Other athletics and army physical training impede my gym progress which angers me.

I voted "Yes but I never use it" but that's not entirely correct. My wife manages a gym so I essentially have a free membership, but I never use that. I have a bench and lat pulldown machine, along with several hundred pounds of free weights, at home that I use once a week or so.

I also have a membership to the local aquatic center that I haven't used in a few weeks but do utilize pretty regularly normally.
