Yes. Whenever you fit a brand new floppy drive in my PC it will MALFUNCTION in 3 days maximum

Why? Dunno, dust just accumulates and then drive fails miserably.

So physically yes, I have a floppy drive. But it doesn't work.

I consider a floppy drive indispensable for quick execution of a number of diagnostic programs. While 'old tech', I consider it the most effective $10 investment in any PC.

Yep, I was just gonna say that. I have a floppy drive so I can run SpinRite by Steve Gibson and other DOS-based utilities.

Of course, while i may use other things for quick portable storage, you still need it for DOS progs and some other things...

Yep... and it comes in very handy in a lot of cases. My laptop on the other hand doesn't have one.

Using an Antec Aria so there is no room for one. I don't really miss it, the only time I needed one was during the initial install OS when I had to install the SATA drivers.

Actually, they are optional on most of thier systems now. I have a floppy drive, and I almost had two but then I relised I could only plug one into the mobo.
