Tommorow I was going to be driving me and my sister back home for the long weekend and she's like my friend is coming. I met her a few times and don't really like her because I haven't really said 2 words to her and don't like the idea of a 2 hour drive with her. What do you guys think?

Its really not hard to say no. I do it all the time. I hate having people in my car.

I hate having people in my car. Plus I usually drive like a madman, so people never ask for a ride more than once.

I have a car and I like being the driver. Yet I always end up being a passenger if we are going out doing something. Something about being in control.....

This summer I gave the girl I worked with a ride to work every morning because she didn't have a car and was pregnant. Last year my pastor asked if I'd give a guy from the dorms a ride to church with me, so I've been doing that ever since. People should help out other people, especially if it takes very little extra effort. If someone is going the same place you are why not give them a ride?

I thought about this once, because I too hate giving rides to people (or used to)... I couldn't figure out what it was, because it was most of the time on the way.

I think what it is, I like having the freedom to leave whenever I want from somewhere, and the ability to change my mind about stopping or going somewhere else... even if I don't need to, I think I just like having that ability.

It never occured to me to ask what kind of car you drive... Well? BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi? Also, how much does a new BMW 330ci cost over there?

I think that is definitly also a reason for me. Also, I think of it as an unneccesary liability if I ever got into an accident, you know how people are! They sue whenever they have a chance.

Theres nothing wrong with doing a good turn for someone. I wouldn't pickup hitchhikers as that can be dangerous but giving someone in need a lift isn't that big a deal. You do enough good turns and eventually it comes back to you in some fashion. I personally enjoy doing things for people as long as it is something reasonable. In my opinion you can't do enough good turns so you should take advantage of every reasonable opportunity to do so.

in your situation, no. only if she lives along the way that you will have to drive. I am a designated driver. 2 hours driving is nothing. :p

yea, I would hate it if I feel being used. that happens, of course no more ride from me.

I wouldn't give rides to people who always take advantage of other people, or people who aren't grateful. Plus, I don't know, even if I give rides to my friends, I guess they don't know how to get out of my car correctly or something, but they always seem to kick my interior side panel and it has marks on it that I can see cuz I have a charcoal interior. I have a 2k Accord Coupe EX V6 by the way, and it annoys me when I give rides and they just abuse the interior of my car. I know I may be picky, but when I sit alone and drive, I always see those damn marks that I can't get rid of.
