I hate baseball. Why do they have to show so much freakin' baseball on ESPN. They show all the highlights on Sports Center, then they have to show it all over again on Baseball Tonight, then once more on Sports Center again. Bleh, watching baseball is pretty boring, only watching golf is worst.

I love it, but then again, it's not marketed to people with the attention span of a watermelon.

I like it, but my interest is waning in these times of inflated power numbers. Give me a "boring" 1-0 game any day.

Ball games in general get way too much attention. Excuse for the "get high" types to get high and the gamblers to piss money away. Bunch of old men playing a kids game on steroids.

Love baseball, always have. Played for 16 years and have now switched to softball mostly for a lack of good adult baseball leagues in my area. Unfortunately the professional game is so flawed right now I'm having trouble caring as much as I have in the past. Steroid abuse, skyrocketing salaries, uneven playing fields, contraction, etc. It's getting to the point to where the off the field nonsense is overshadowing the game itself. Both parties need to step back and look at the situation they have created.

I look at the NFL and the parity they have achieved and I'm jealous. Anyone can win in the NFL any given Sunday and it does wonders for the league. Sure there are times that the salary cap can rip the hearts out of the fans when a team has to release a beloved veteran who is past their prime because they can't afford them but the pros of the system outweigh the cons.

I think there should be a salary cap and some sort of revenue sharing so that the playing field can be leveled. Year after year there are only a handful of teams that can hope to make the playoffs and that sucks. Steroid testing should have ben in place years ago and every season that goes by where there is no control over it puts players lives at rish, no matter if it is their choice or not. It is such a competitive arena where players are looking for every single edge to make a name for themselves, get that higher salary and achieve financial stability for themselves and their family. I in no way approve drug use but I can understand the thinking behidn some players who use it. Get rid of Bud Selig. We have a commissioner who is talking about contracting teams but somehow looks over the team oened by his daughter which currently has the worst record in the league. Never mind that the two teams in question (Twins and Expos) are at or above .500 at the time of this posting.

I am done with this rant now. I love baseball and I always will. I am actually in favor of another labor stoppage, but only if the two sides can accomplish what needs to be done for the good of the game.

Baseball is not my favorite sport, but I don't hate it. I prefer college football (or even the NFL, but I like NCAA better)

I think one of the reasons a lot of baseball is being show now (and for the rest of the summer, as well) is because in just a few weeks, there won't really be any other sports on. The NBA and NHL seasons are about to end, football isn't until the fall. There's really not much to watch sporting-wise during the summer other than baseball.

Love the game, my favorite sport. Yes it can get tedious when watching on TV, being there live helps that quite a bit.

Did anyone see the ESPN Sunday Conversation with Steinbrenner where he basically said he is already ready willing and able to concede to whatever demands the players want? He basically said:
"If so and so wants $15 million a year to play 162 games then I am fine with that. If Hollywood is willing to pay an actor $20 million for 1 movie, then why not pay a player $15 million to play 162 games?"
He also blabbed about being behind the commissioner all the way. I guess if your team and the commissioner's team are the only ones making money, you certainly don't want to change things. I hope the other owners grow backbones this go around. A strike would be devastating for the sport, but could end up being the best thing for it.

whether or not you like baseball boils down to one simple characteristic:

Baseball is about anticipating what could happen, whereas all other sports are more about what DID happen.

I really don't care about baseball. But I just hate the fact that it's being virtually shoved down our throats with SO much of it being shown on TV. Every night on ESPN and Fox Sports they talk about almost nothing but baseball or there's a game on.

I played baseball all my life. Love to still play when I can, damn knees, but I can't stand to watch professional baseball. Well that's not true, I still enjoy watching minor league ball but MLB sucks.
