Back 1997 and early 1998, almost every song that was getting some airplay on the radio had a cd single, and the singles sales accounted for 50% of it's chart position on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart. In January 1998, Billboard changed it's charting rules, due to the fact that singles weren't selling as well, so that a song's CD single sales only accounted for 25% of it's chart ranking. Now, today, if you look at the Billboard Hot 100, only 7 songs have a Cd Single that has been released to market. 7 Out of 100!
