I want to believe in a religion, but no matter how hard I try there is always that doubt. So at least once a day when I get bored, I start to think about it and it scares me out of my mind. Has this happen to anyone else? Any way to stop it?

We think so similar about this that it's scary. deathly scary.

Ok, I have to stop reading this thread. I'm starting to get the cold shiver down my spine, the sweaty palms and the raised heartbeat because some of you got me thinking about not existing. I just can't deal with it. I must exist!

When I am somewhere like Orlando on vacation and the sun is shining brightly and the palms are swaying gently in the breeze it's a chilling thought that someday everything I enjoy will cease to be for me. The laughter, the beach, my family, holidays....seeing a favorite movie...all abruptly end and there is nothing any of us can do about it.

More scary is how that end will come. Will it be violent or slow and protracted?? That's what I fear most.

No and No, already been dead twice, trust me people, there is nothing on the "other side".

That idea scares me more than death itself.

Well if that's the case the Wal-Mart bakery sells a whopper of a pecan pie. Just to look at it would mean death. :p

the only thing I'm afraid of is that my family might go against my wishes and stuff my dead body into a pine box and leave it for the worms to eat.

i want to give all parts to people who need them, the rest to science, and any little bit left burned up and tossed in an ocean somewhere.

when I die I want to creamated and all records of my existence destroyed, I wish my pathetic life to be forgotten. (and people wonder why I have suicidal thoughts :Q) I'm not afraid for myself to die, but couldn't fathom what would/could happen to my wife and little girl if I where gone, they are what keep me sane.

Fighting death is not easy, i feel like killing myself all the time because life just sucks no matter how you look at it. and yes, i've been to therapy and it didn't help because it was all psycological and their is no cure :|

I dont fear is because its pointless to live in fear of something that is inevitable and beyond my control. I try to avoid putting myself in situations that will cause me to die, not because I fear death but because I enjoy life, but I'm not going to live in a bubble to protect myself from the inevitable, if you understand what I mean.

I do think about it from time to time. Its not something that scares me too much. I used to want to die so maybe thats why. Now I love life but I still have no real fear of death. My opinion would probbably change if i was in an intensive care unit struggling to stay alive though.

i'll welcome death with open arms......later.

the only thing i fear is dying in my sleep, or when i'm drugged up or something. i want to be alert and awake. it would suck to miss the experience of dying.

I don't fear death, and it's not something that's on my mind too often. When I do think about death, I just wonder how it's going to happen, and I hope that it won't be painful or drawn out. I also think about the people I'll be leaving behind, and that makes me a little sad.
