Poll: do you ever feel tired of computers?

Yes I know computers are the theme of these forums, but just like with everything, do you ever get to hate them occasionally or get tired of pressing buttons and looking at the screen..? That's emotional dislike, when you understand you have to use the computer to complete this or that task at work, but it feels so hard to press the buttons and print something in there...

Or never?

Computers used to be my hobby since I got my first one, many moons ago. I've gamed on it, surfed net and dabbled in programming, as well as autocad, mathcad, matlab.

Lately though, I've grown tired of it in a sort of been there done that have the iron on transfer t-shirt to prove it with computers. So I'm moving on to holography as a hobby.

Some links on holography as a hobby:

hmm I should start selling t-shirts that say: I been using computers for years and all I got was this lousy t-shirt to support my new holo habit. Or how bout an: I'm an atot NEF and all I got was this lousy iron on transfer t-shirt....

nah

Hate the stupid things. Unfortunately, I don't have much else to do so I usually find myself stuck in front of this thing in my room.

I use them at work as well as home. I do get tired of TV real quick..goofy commericals and laugh track comedies..shut that thing off.

yes. Since I am expected to use them 8 hours a day work, I don't have a lot of desire to mess with them for fun anymore. Also, I've had nothing but problems on every computer system that I've built since my K62-500.

Used to be my hobby/obsession. I never thought I'd get bored, but recently I don't give a rat's ass about mine to be honest. I never tire of the internet of course.

That is how I feel. I built my first machine, I was all excited... bleh, I couldn't care less. I just need harddrive space and media and I am a happy camper. I don't think I will build another machine again... Ill just get a normal Dell or something.

Ok, I hear it all the time here.. what the heck is a NEF or what is Neffing???

Neffing is posting useless drivel for the purposes of increasing your post count. A Nef of course is one who engages in said activity. And yes sadly, there are people who think post count is meaningful. But that is a discussion topic for another thread, another time.

Absolutely. I do a lot of computational work for school.... and I get completely tired of the $%^& thing. There's only so long you can stare at C++ and/or FORTRAN code without starting to hate computers. 🙂

However, I do use it a LOT for news and information... and the internet is great for chatting and, of course, learning.

I WILL say that I use completely separate computers for pleasure and work now (which helped a lot). Also, I became lots more tolerant when I made a very very quiet computer for my bedroom.
