where do you sell it? on ebay again 😕
I would read it as "I buy stuff cheap on eBay, and I also sell stuff that I don't need for a profit."

Your reading comprehension is strong. Yzzim's kung fu needs work. 😛

Edit: And I didn't misuse the word profit. Profit = income - basis. Ex. I recently bought a particular Xbox game for around $12. I sold it online for total of $36+. Comprende?

I understood it as:

I buy stuff on Ebay, for cheap. The stuff I don't need I sell and make money.

My question = Where do you sell this stuff you find on Ebay. You obviously can't resell it on Ebay since it didn't sell for much in the first place.

You = teh dumber 😛

I don't understand why it is Big Smooth understood what I said but you didn't? You have a beef with eBay?? LOL.

Let me make it clearer. I like to surf eBay and snag things when I can for cheaper than I could purchase in a store (either B&M or online). Period.

Stuff that I acquire as gifts, or things that I buy locally that I don't need or that have increased in value, I sell. Thus my Xbox game example--that really happened. Now do you understand what I'm saying? 😉

I thought you were saying that you buy stuff on Ebay (whether you need it or not) and then try and resell it for a profit.

What I thought you were saying was this:

You find this rare antique on Ebay for $10 but you know it's worth $100

You buy it, and then try to sell it to make a profit.

My question was where would you sell it to make the profit? You couldn't sell it on Ebay, because it already sold on there for 90% of it's value. Soo...where would you go to make the profit? Locally? Have a friend that buys everything? Antqiue store? Another auction site somewhere online?

?Comprende? 😛

I understand what you're saying, but you didn't get what I was saying. Hehehe. Frankly, there are indeed items that I come across online that you can buy and then turn around and make a profit. The degree of the profit depends on the item. What I've seen is that items that have bad titles, spelling errors, no pictures, etc. can fetch a lot more when the auction is done right. But no: I don't buy antiques or stuff like that on eBay and then turn around and try to sell it for a profit.

Edit: And if you're going to do the comprende with ?s and all, you need an upside down one (¿) at the front! Heheheh.

You're welcome, btw.

yeah, people like that seem to piss me off.

I tried the whole Ferengi thing a couple years ago. Around Christmas, those little purr kittens were selling for $20 or so at Wal-Mart, while they were selling for $75 or so online. I went to the local wal-mart and found 8 in stock. Bought two of them and put the rest on layaway.

Went home and put the first two up on Ebay. Got around $75 each for them so I was making a nice profit. Great, right? Wrong. My little sister found the kittens and had such a fun time playing with them. Couldn't help but think of all the other kids my sisters age that would have fun playing with them and all the parents that are frantically looking for them.

Anyway, I ended up buying 4 of them total (2 for my sister, and 2 for the people on Ebay) and then let the rest go back on the shelf.

Greed sucks.
Huh..... I don't consider it greed at all.... although I will admit there must be a pretty fine line.

I just call it being resourceful. I mean, if you can buy something for cheaper than it is selling for... what person wouldn't go for it? You have to take advantage of what you are given. You will never get anywhere if you don't.

There's nothing wrong with finding hot deals and reselling them. It doesen't matter to the retailers. It doesen't cause a rift in the space time continuum. The only people that might bitch are the people that don't get in on the deal because they're all gone. 😛

😛

It's a nice hobby for me. And a quite profitable one at that😛 You just have to be at the right time at the right place.

pwnage.

Let's see: your cost, if you're smart, is $82.62 delivered each with STL, x3 = 247.86. (Add $27.54 if you're not so fortunate.)

Your windfall from the auctions: $227, plus shipping: $280.85

Paypal fees: $7.08
Listing fees + FVF: $9.01

Leaving you $16.90 to mail 3 three packages weighing 22 pounds each to the high bidders.

Cost to mail a 22lb package via media mail in state: $8.44
Cost to mail via UPS: $10.40

*minimum shipping cost to you: at least $25. Probably more in the $40-$45 range.

Good luck with that, Mr Rockefeller!
