POLL: Do you customize your Start menu?

Nope, I don't use my XP machine enough to care. I just got my games on the desktop and thats all I need.

No, I put the programs i need in quick launc or on desktop. I also has the start menu placed in upper left corner, and the toolbar down on the left.

I organize everything by use. Leaving installed progs in their default company folders makes no sense to me.

EDIT: I also throw a lot of sh!t into toolbars on the taskbar.

on my 2k pro box ... I have it semi organized .... I friggin hate when theres a million folders and it wants to scroll or open a second collumn

I organize everything in to folders. /Utilities, /Games, /Multimedia, that sorta thing. It's a little annoying to use someone elses computer and they just have crap thrown about everywhere in no particular order.

Yup, I organize all my programs into special folders, with shortcuts in the main window. But what is a "start menu"?

Windows 3.11 fo-Evah!!

Windows 3.2 is where its at, yo!

I group my programs such as Utilities, Joe's Print Shop, Internet Helpers, Browsers, Uninstallers, Scanner Stuff, Miscellaneous

Makes for a clean looking desktop

i customized the folder view (details, display full path, status bar, etc), change the theme to windows classic and set the background to black. i also add a *lot* of stuff to the quicklaunch area. i don't bother customizing the start menu though, except for adding a shortcut to administrative tools, sometimes it's a b*tch to uninstall stuff if it's not installed to the default folder, and i don't want to deal with that later on.

Yes, I do a fair bit of customization in my Start Menu. I don't use shortcuts on the desktop and my quicklaunch is pretty sparse as well, so the Start Menu is where I go to access programs, although the ones I use the most are in the quicklaunch, anyway. I sort it out into the Admin Tools, Games, Internet, Microsoft, Miscellaneous, and Multimedia. Anything I use fits into one of those categories.

same here. the only programs that I keep in the main menu are the ones that I don't use often enough for them to be under the frequently used programs, but just often enough that I won't feel like fishing around for it when I do need it (ie: calculator, new word document, windows update, remote desktop connection)
