I simply move the big patio umbrella and stand right next to the grill!

 

too many factors
it depends what i'm cooking
and how heavy the rain
and if i have guests
and WHEN it starts raining (plus the ones above)

i bbq year round 🙂

never bbqed at 3am though (although i go outside at 3am and stir all the hot coals around)

Depends on the circumstances. If you can give the food shelter while you open the BBQ, then I wouldn't be against it. But if the food is soaked everytime you flip it around, then I wouldn't do it.

My post stands whether you BBQ or whether you grill.

If it was totally pouring out, probably not. But I pull the grill up by my back door so I can stand under the roof overhang part and the grill is out getting wet. Works well as long as I don't leave the top open and get the food all wet.
