Poll: Do you always drive with your headlights on?

I always have my lights on, regardless of the weather or time of day. I've never actually counted, but it seems like a slight majority of other cars on the road around here do the same. I initially started turning them on because I drove a light gray (read: road-colored) car and I wanted to make myself more visible. I've noticed over the past few years, though, that no matter what the color of the car, having the headlights on makes it more visible (and easier to judge speed) so I drive with my lights on all the time, no matter what I'm driving.

Who else does the same?

DRLs are teh

They are DAMN bright! Esp. Saturns.

And, some cars don't turn on the taillamps automatically. So, guess what happens when you get in your car at dusk or at night? Your headlights are on but you have NO TAILLAMPS on!

yep, with the wrx i just leave them on all the time (they look better than the DRLs) and they still turn off automatically when car shuts off (and when parking break is on)

i hate dlrs, yea, it makes your car more visible if you live in a foggy place or something, but i dun live in such a place.

i like being able to control when i turn my lights on. not let gm's gimicky marketing ploy turn em on for me..

One of the things I DESPISED about central FL driving is that it is another area where it seems most people usually have their brights on, if it either looks like it might rain later that day, or it is before noon or after 3PM. Many have a dozen or more additional halogen lights installed on their vehicles, which seem to be aimed to go right into other driver's eyes.

THIS DOES NOT MAKE YOU SAFE OR EASIER TO SEE. I don't know what is up with the "oh no its below 1 million lumens I can't see!" freaks, but their headlights even during the day are more blinding than staring straight into the sun. Forcing oncoming traffic to drive "eyesees closeees" or those in front of you to adjust rearview mirrors to look at the seat does not make you safer.

I voted usually/somtimes, but it's more often during the day that they're on than off. I drive at night so often that the habit of turning the the headlights on at the same time as I start the car carries over to the brightest of days. Only on the brightest and clearest of days, and then only when I catch myself turning them on, do I drive without the headlights on.

I've got a memory red 97 Jetta with daytime running lights. I know how to disable the daytime running light part and have contemplated doing so, but fear others hitting me now because of this thread.

The crazy germans did a good job though, they made the drl's with a pulse-based dimmer function to keep the brightness down.

No, daytime lights are flippin annoying (as well as misaligned lights at night). It really doesn't make a difference in my opinion...retard drivers do stupid stuff in front of me all the time whether my lights are on or not.

Daytime running lights in the Acura... Turn them on only at night (my truck doesn't see bad weather) in the lightning.
