I recently bought a lexmark E210, freaking fast and love it, only 4M memory though

never look back to inkjet 😉

btw, for those using laser printer, do u refill toner ?

coz these guys claim that every toner can be refilled for 3-5 times until drum wear out and will NOT void the warranty ?

btw, Is it ok to leave laser printer 24/7 ?
and when my laser printer startup, all my light blink for a few ms...
is it because it is drawing a lot of current ?

i have both. i mostly use the laser printer, and rarely print photos with my inkjet. haven't needed to replace the toner in over a year (still on my first toner).

Got a HP 4ML laser about 9 years ago, still humming along, got a Canon inkjet a couple of years ago but don't use it much since the ink carts tend to dry out on me. I love how the HP toner carts keep working for at least 1.5 years without drying out/going bad.

Two inkjets. One that was cheap and I bought it when I got my computer for school. And the other that a friend didn't want at the end of the school year.

Hehe, I dunno about getting rid of it though.
It's one of those all-in-one printer/fax/scan/copiers, and right now it's serving as a fax and copier.

Still waiting for HP to come out with XP compatible drivers 😛

And with that, I am now Platinum 😀

Still working my trusty old HP1600 inktjet (24 MB memory and a jetdirect network connection thingy). Good enough for my little homenetwork 🙂

I hardly ever print, and when I do have to print I can always do it at work. Hardly ever print something not work-related anyway. For this simple reason I have never bothered to spent money on a printer.

I have both.. I got a HP 3100 laserjet, a HP 940cse inkjet and an now defunct Epson stylus color 400 that i am going to dump tommorow. its taking up too much space.

I once used some cheaper replacement inks from fry's cause they didnt have my sylus 400's black ink.. next thing i know the damn thing wont print black right. The problem was that the epson ink cartridge flows into the nozzle and the nozzle does the priniting, unlike HP where the print cartridge does the printing.

I also have an Epson FX80 dot matrix printer that we nolonger use.

I got to find the HP 3100.. it might be here or at my parents place. i last gave it to my parents to keep until i made some room.. now I need it back.

edit:

Dont get the laser replacement stuff.. get teh orignial stuff. at work someone put in a cheaper toner in to the HP machine and we had to chuck it out. they were trying to save a few pennies and guess what they ended up spending more.

I have always use recycled toner cartridges and even used toner refill kits and I've never had a problem with them. Sometimes you do get one with a bad drum (dots or lines in printout) but most companies replace that for free.

And no, it will not void the warranty. You have to do something really stupid to void the warranty, like not screwing in the screws tightly and they come out and get crunched under some rollers, or screw up sealing the toner cartridge and it spills all over the place and wont come off for some reason (use compressed air!).
