they can think, but it's not rational thought. They can make logical decisions based on input/output, but not making rational decisions

no, they can only compute. hence the name :p this is based on my definition of think, which would mean to participate in random musings and rational analysations.

Of course they dont think. Perhaps some people don't, but I do. As far as this tendency to compare computers to the mind, yeah you can do it, but a Neandrethal could liken a hurled rock to a B-2. After all they both fly. No one has any real idea how the mind works. If they tell you they do, just have them build a functional brain from scratch.

Bzzz! Wrong. We have what's called "free will". Try figuring out a way to prove your statement with free will as a variable. :)

i dont think that they cant think, am i thinking this? or was this programmed into my head for me to think this way when thinking about how computers think?
