POLL: Dish Network + HDTV - VS - DirecTV + Tivo?

I'm moving soon and since I got an awesome deal on a new TV, figured I should watch more of it. 🙂

Currently, most places are selling a 2-room DirecTV setup with DirecTivo for < $99 installed (3 LNB dish).

Now, DishNetwork / Sears is offering a free 811 HD receiver with a 2/3 room system and service.

I've always been a DirecTV fan (and the owner of the company actually lives down the street) but a free HD receiver is 😎

Thoughts?

edit: If you can support your choice with good reasons to pick one or the other that helps. (i.e., billing issues, channel selection, picture quality)

Dish. I'd rather jam a pencil in my eye than give DirecTV a cent of my money. Besides, I've found the Dish service to be better and as you said, HD is good

You could always get the best of both worlds either way. DirecTV currently has a few companies that make HD Tivos and Dish Network is coming out with the 921 receiver which is a HD DVR with 2 tuners.

I don't think you realize what a cost-ineffective solution that is.

Tivo through DTV/Dish = $5/mo, no initial cost.

Tivo standalone = $10/mo, $200 initial cost.

DirecTiVo is awesome. HD rocks too, but it is too limited at this point to even begin to approach the usefulness of DirecTiVo.
