Just select from the poll. I gave the preorder a shot today and if I can get the chip before August I will keep it, otherwise I will just cancel it. I still haven't order the mobo, and other stuff yet as I think it is still too early because the availability of the chips are still quite unclear.

No. I'm not ordering a Conroe/Merom any time soon...

When I feel this X2 @ 2.8GHz is too slow for my main rig, I'll be considering it then (maybe in another year).

I'm actually still pleased with my 939 3500+, 754 3400+, and two P4 3.2c single core machines. Although the 3500+ will probably get an X2 once prices drop through the floor, as I will only need to swap the CPU out on the cheap for a nice upgrade.

I'm not ordering anything till they give me an exact ship date. Besides, I have a s939 board w/ 3000+ @ 2.6ghz. I might just opt for a X2 instead.

I'm gonna consider the price of Conroe Vs. AM2 X2 after the price drop before I make any decisions.

I am really tempted to do so, but I'm in no HUGE rush as my 3200+ is still alright. I think it may be a good idea to wait for things to settle, as availability is questionable....

Nope, not going to.

Just built a nice new AM2 based system and won't be looking for an upgrade until AMD releases the 65nm chips.

*wonders how long it will take for those preorders to actually ship*

With only 25% of Intel's chips going to Core designs (Core 1 and 2) and 75% going to Netburst chips by years end, supplies are going to be very tight for a while.

Depends on supplies and on ATI's Xfire mobo for conroe... I'm also debating whether or not its worth it with Kentsfield coming out supposedly Jan of 07

The OP must not think it's useless, or he wouldn't have posted this, now would he?

QFT.

The polls included in these threads also seem to speak a pretty clear language. :D

Oh, suck it up already will ya? If you don't like the topic of the thread, don't read it. It's really that simple.

No need to replace my Opty 170.
Plenty fast enough.

Might upgrade my other systems with some rock bottom priced X2's though! :D

The two are not the same. Reading posts in a thread and reading threads are two different things. One is easier to tell if you'll like it or not (thread).. the other often becomes apparent only after reading it (comment or post).
