I failed horribly in keeping my principal New Year's resolution from 2006 (reading a book a week).

I don't make New Years resolutions. I fix problems when I find them, rather than letting them go until some arbitrary date.

I actually did keep all of my New Year's Resolutions but I have to admit that is probably the first time in my life that that ever happened. It's a fluke.

I have a friend who did the book a week thing. In 2005 she was like 10 books short so in 2006 she read a book a week +10 to make up for the loss. I always thought that was a really cool resolution and was really impressed that she did it!

No New Year's Resolutions, but I've kept every resolution I made in 2006, like cutting out dessert almost completely, working out at least 5 times a week, and others.

seriously, sorta made one last year, which i rarely do

and i pretty much kept it, i decided to stop drinking sugar/HFCS soda and switched to diet version with no calories

i did cheat a few times, but 98% of the time i stuck to it

i figure i must have avoided 50,000 to 100,000 calories during 2006 due to this

The point of making New Year's resolutions is to identify issues that need addressing at the forefront of the year. If you put it off until whenever problems arise, it may long past due.
