Did Russia help Trump get elected?

Honestly? I don't think so. I think American stupidity with a nice helping of shitty opponent helped get Trump elected. Most people were going to vote for Trump based soley on his antics and 'not hillary' status.

Lets go back to 2016.
Donald Trump riding down his Trump Tower escalator.
Making that speech announcing he is running.
And now flash forward..... and here we are in a real pickle.
So minus Putin's influence, is it a good idea to allow just ANYONE to run for the highest office in the land?
I mean.... if Charles Manson had been released for time served and ran for president and got elected, would that be ok?
Or if some convicted child molester ran and got elected, would that be ok?
If Pee Wee Herman ran and insisted on wearing his Pee Wee costume if elected, red lipstick and all, would that be ok?
Is there no limit on what can run for president? Or what can get elected?
And.... shouldn't there be? (A limit, that is)
Can't we simply tell Donald Trump to go away, and take his inbred family with him?
Because Donald, YOU DON'T QUALIFY.
And besides, it's Charles Manson's turn. Deceased or not.

It only had to change the minds of 80,000 across three states and the Facebook posts reached millions.

Next up he will be saying how Facebook's influence in our lives needs to be taken seriously, and banning conservative conspiracy nutters is a violation of free speech. He's here all week folks.

Same poster who reviewed some of the proganda ads pulled off of Facebook spread by fake accounts and said "where are the lies?"

Well let's see here. We have Mueller on one side with all of the hard earned facts and data that took two years to pry out of Trump's associates up to and including jailing some of them with many more active investigations being farmed out. We then have, for one reason or another, SDNY chomping at the bit to drag Trump kicking and screaming into their world of high pressure legal leveraging.

And then we have Trump, of whom being in a close working relationship with said convicted/indicted/investigated individuals denying any and all criminal involvement with the aforementioned crooks along with his insisting he was exonerated (by way of Barr's preemptive disingenuous side show) of any wrongdoing that Mueller is now insisting Trump is assuredly not as stated in his investigation report.

Damn, now who should I believe. heh

I'd certainly would vote for Paul Ruebens over Trump.😎

I think the hacked emails definitely hurt Clinton. I don’t think the Facebook crap had any effect.

Did that decide the election though? No I don’t believe so. Clinton lost the campaign because she was a terrible candidate and Trump won by playing to what people wanted which was drastic change.

Any Democrat should have crushed Trump. Hillary wasn't a good candidate which is why she only won the election by a few million votes.

But while she was the preferred candidate by the electorate, the Reps and Russia, with their gerrymandering and collaboration likely stole the election and remember I never liked Hillary going back to Arkansas so it's not a matter of m favorite candidate lost sour grapes.

Yeah Obama was an Arab Muslim and she was his assistant. She was a traitor. God save Trump! He's our only hope!

or atleast that's what a large chunk of the country thought!

To be honest Brexit was an indicator.. how nationalist sentiment was prevalent in 2016. Is it still there? yes.. but is it there so much?

If you look at India.. yes hate of others will still override policy. But with American voters.. I don't know.

There are enough books on Cold War history and the topics of psy-war and propaganda. What do you think the Germans who had worked for Goebbels did, after relocating to American universities and engaging in contracts with the CIA (1945-1960) while writing articles for "Public Opinion Quarterly"? They designed surveys for research classified and unclassified, and they collected statistics.

The Russians have the statistics used during their campaign. What should we do -- issue a subpoena? Anyone who thinks they just "created ads and other stuff" on Facebook without obtaining statistical results throughout their work to drive it further is naïve and stupid.

But we also have intercepts and hacks from the Russians. They had both the intent, and the confirmation when they celebrated the election results.

The Degenerate GOP apologists can only argue "it can't be proven" as a legalese defense ploy, so they can hang on to whatever power they have. And anyone who believes that crap should choke on their July 4 barbecue, or mix some Kool-Aid and book a one-way cruise to Hell.

It's the Trumpster version of the Dunning Kreuger effect where those most affected deny it the strongest. GOP/Trumpian propaganda & Russian propaganda were the same thing in 2016. Even Macedonian teenagers were making money off of right wing conspiracy theory believers, maybe still are-

https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-38168281

In denying it had any effect people get to believe in the MAGA & avoid thinking about why Putin threw in for Trump. It wasn't for the MAGA. He knows Trump is poison for America.

Some ten years ago, Glen Beck was giving a "lecture" -- blackboard and chalk props to boot -- on propaganda to his chucklehead Rightie audience on FOX. He was telling them "We can't be fooled by left-wing propaganda, because we're smart, we're independent, and we aren't average."

I found it stunning. It almost seemed he'd taken a passage out of Jacques Ellul's "Propaganda" (1964). But Ellul was saying that the reason propaganda works derives from a mass mindset wherein people have the natural tendency to think they're smart, they're independent, they're not average.

This should not be a leftwing echochamber, Middle America, which Democrats lost in 2016 hell isn't.

Other than that, yes, Putin did help Trump get elected, but Hillary Clinton and the Democrats did not have an economic message in 2016, period.

Just because you weren't programmed by your right-wing propaganda leaders about Democratic Party policies, doesn't mean that the Democratic party didn't have an economic message.

I am not rightwing, I am an Independent. They did not have an economic message, all they talked about was social issues (Black Lives Matter, police, Orange man bad, etc.)

Elections are won on economics. Trump, incoherent and buffonish as he is, had an economic message and cultural message that connected with 62 million Americans and won the Electoral College.

Independent.

Hilarious.

No, you're a Russian.

Anyone who is a centrist or a conservative or not in the same ideological boat as you is a Russian. This is not the way to persuade voters, you further alienate them. Nice try.

Any criticism of the Democratic Party or leftism is not allowed, isn't it? Reckon with the fact that the Democrats haven't had an economic message for a couple of years that led to Putin and Trump's rise.

Which really doesn't change the fact that Trumpsters obliviously march shoulder to shoulder with Russian propagandists who obviously intend us no good.

Trump is tearing down the institutions of democracy exactly as they intended.

^ I'll take things a Russian would say for $.25 Alex.

Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were both centrists yet Faux News and the GOP as a whole attacked them and continue to attack them with fervent hatred.

do you still not see the problem here?

btw, your grasp of the English language is atrocious so you can't really blame anyone for suspecting that you are a Russian.

Syntax, dude, syntax.
