POLL! Diablo II w/ LoD or Dungeon Siege?

I have both of these games available to install, but I am not too familiar with either of them. I am going to install one of these on a machine at work to help kill time between customers. Because I am at work and will have to step away from the game at random intervals, I will not be playing online.

So, what are your thoughts? Which of these two games is the most fun? Which game should I install and play?

I liked them both, but played a lot more Diablo 2 than Dungeon Siege (but I haven't gotten the expansion yet). Diablo 2 is more action-oriented, Dungeon Siege (at least single-player) is more tactical.

Yeah, its not too bad. I am the manager of a cell phone shop that opened late last year, and after several months of really good business, this month has been rather slow. So, the owner of the store and I sit at our respective computers trying to keep ourselves entertained until more customers show up. Believe me, I would much rather be selling than playing games, but this should help pass the time.

Diablo 2 works better for arcade-style play, since you need a game where you can play without really paying attention to story line or detail, due to being at work.

But really, playing serious PC games at work is usually a way to get booted. I'd advise against it.

I'm telling you, if you easily become addicted to PC games, do not install Diablo 2. It is one hell of an addicting game (at least it was before the 1.10 patch). Me and my friends lost many months of our lives MFing and rushing in the LoD Xpac.

EDIT: Well I just saw you won't be playing online, so I really don't know which one is better. For playing offline, I'd say pick up Baldur's Gate 2 or Icewind Dale 2, both very good RPGs.

I'd say Dungeon Siege due to the fact that it has almost an unlimited # of possibilities.
I once had a bazooka that shot out flaming chickens :D

but then again.... both games have been seriously messed up my hacked items and characters... I say play Fallout series, the only RPG/action game that made me want to play more single player than multi.

D2 is fun and I find Blizzard takes more actions against hacking that MS does with Dungeonseige. But hacking/cheating is still prevelant with those games.

D2 would have more stupid kids playing though.

DS was a very very pretty game - but had so little substance I only played it once. DII lasted 3 years :D

Once they reset the ladder, I'm gonna get back into it!

Another vote for Diablo 2... without a doubt. Dungeon Siege is better for the first 20 mintutes, but you can play Diablo for years (I have been) and it never gets boring... (well sometimes).

And you're both too stupid to know the difference between "your" and "you're"

Your = possessive as in "Your English teachers should be smacked for passing people who quite clearly learned nothing.

You're = contraction of "you" and "are" as in "you're stupid"

That being said, Dungeon Siege is nothing more than a tech demo, it's a pretty game to watch and a terrible one to play. Diablo II isn't great, but it's light years in front of Dungeon Siege.

Dungeon siege is truly mindless, at least there is a little strategy in regards to upgrades and paths with Diablo2. The new version made some interesting skill combos too, making it a better game. I stopped playing it a while ago, but picked it up again with the new patch, since I've dropped it again, but I played it for a long time when it came out.

combos? You mean everyone using the same builds wanting the same equipment?

No challenge once you hit 80+ with good gear.... my chars can do solo hell baal runs with maxed players, thats how unbalanced the game has become. And the thing is:

1) My barb doesn't even use WW (frenzy + zerk + BOTDs)
2) Sorc ( 800 damage orb + over 5k FB pretty low due to orb )
3) Druid (elemental)
4) Assassin.... well.... I've tried and it takes over 15 min (367% ED elite claws etc)
5) Paladin (NO NEED TO EXPLAIN SINCE ITS POSSIBLE FOR HIM TO HAVE 4 auras on at the same time)
6) Amazon (weaker now, but with a windforce and an aura merc, just use enigma to tele and then put on IAS/ED gear after)

I've played since D1! And I found out that in D1, you spent your entire time trying to shop for better items instead of going for countless MF runs. D2 w/ LOD became a waste of time after the dupes.... but there are mods out there for LOD that are definitely worth it.
