Seems like all the "servers" try to get you to buy dessert after eating out at a resturant.

I usually only get dessert at a resturant if it's a birthday. I'm usually way too full for anything else.

This is western Michigan too, and we likes to eats. maybe it's a regional thing.

Most restaurants will give you a little nudge to order dessert. It's a high-profit item. And it makes your tab higher, so that will mean a little more tip for the server.

Personally, restaurants around here generally serve so much food I can't eat dessert.

Yeah, that's another thing too, the portions at some places are so huge I can't imagine people getting MORE food after that. Then there's apitizers and most places have bread of some kind too... alot of food

you know....when you go all out - the crab appetizer, the filet, the asparagus, the chocolate cheesecake or soufle, the capacino - a 5 star restaurant.

there are other desserts more fitting after a big meal.

Very rarely, I could count on one hand probably the number of times I've eaten dessert at a restaurant.

When I was a waiter I never recommend dessert cause I was too lazy to go get it.
