Got a client that's got her heart set on a zip drive so I'm aimin' to please. They've got a bunch of old floppies.

My options:

1) Get a floppy drive, install an ATAPI ZIP drive internally (If there are enough external bays)
2) Get a floppy drive, use an external USB/Parallel ZIP Drive
3) Screw the floppy, install a ZIP drive into the floppy bay.
4) Attempt to convert her to USB Memory Keys and CD-Burners
5) Do a little dance.

Haven't work on many recent Dell systems. Would there be enough bays to just slap a ZIP drive above/below the CD-Burner?

Ok, so apparently I would have to use an Internal Floppy -or- ZIP in the 2400 but the 4600's got some space to work with.

What kind of client would want you to buy a dell for them? They could just buy it from dell themselves.

It's more advising them what to get. They'll be fitting the bill. She had a bad experience with a guy building a custom system so she's much more comfortable buying a pre-made one. Just doesn't know what all to get. I'm sure the dell rep's would upsell her another $1,000 or so.
