no, its more that the 1800 is generally cheaper by a significant margin

both of these monitors are cheaper than my 19" FD trinitron back in early 2000

I have an old 1700FP. it's been a good monitor for me, about 2 yrs now. used it for a lot of different things, including taking it on location for when i'm doing demos for clients. (try that with a CRT).

but the 20"er looks really really sweet to me.

The best thing is to WAIT for 16ms refresh screens that should be hitting the market within the next year.

HA, i paid over $600.00 for my 1702FP, of course that was over 2 yrs ago.

Now I could get a 1901FP for $418 with 4 USB 2.0 ports

I have a dual 1800FP setup. I'm very happy with these LCDs. I game on it with no problems at all.

For that price...you can't beat the 1800FP.
