The member name field is huge at my resolution. You could take that back some.. Although my resolution is currently about 1152x864...

I was the one who suggested to use colred numbers and get rid of the arrows.
Maybe the first time it's confusing, but you can find it easily.
The caption says: Yest, Prev, Chng and if you still don't understand, i hope you can do some math to find out what it meant.
Maybe it's more clear if you put +6 (green) and -1 (red).

I think it makes the page more sophisticated without the arrows.
Look at this site, and you see that the colors are enough and that the arrows are annoying: http://dynamic.nasdaq.com/aspx/majorindices.aspx

btw, yesterday i jump almost 6000 positions (5784)😀 from 0 to normal output in one day. If my name was TA_<something> i definitively would have climbed more than 6000.
Can I get a smaller (cow) dump picture?

One thing to consider pertains to accessibility. It's not a big issue, but some folks are colorblind. Arrows would useful in these cases, whereas colored text would not.

Also, if you decide to keep the arrows, I suggest making the background of the arrow images transparent.

I've already made the case for right justifying numerical values (which would align arrows w/o having to make a separate column), but that's a dealer's choice decision.

Ok, Geoffs you now need to implement a full theme system for users to select what theme they like. 😛

Or I guess you could just create a _mod.php for the people that want no arrows. Or even better just allow them to pass a switch between pages. For example a variable "arrows" could = nothing and they are shown and = anything and they are not.

My opinion is either way works for me. I am just happy we have such a great stats site. Thanks. 🙂

You guys are going to think I'm lying but I actually know a guy that only sees in black and white. For people like him (I know it's a large minority) the arrows would help.

Personally I like the idea of shrinking the name column to fit to the width of the longest name and changing the arrows to + and - and coloring both the +, -, and number of change. Thats just me though.
