I'd say get the Tripplite because it can handle a bigger load.

TrippLite and APC are the 2 oldest power & surge protection companies, both have been around for at least a decade. Cyberpower doesn't have the track record or positive reputation of TrippLite, though I don't know anything bad about them either.

A true UPS speced battery can set in the warehouse for up to one year w/o being charged and NOT sulfate the plates.
Are the better batteries in the Tripplite?? Buy it and tell us :p
A pair of batteries cost about ....Meh, $40.

I've got a Belkin, Cyberpower, and an OptiUS. They all do what they are supposed to anwork great. Of the three I like Cyberpower's software the best.

Personally I'd go with the Cyberpower because it's cheaper, they work fine, and the software is excellent.

BTW, That Cyberpower is the exact same model I own.

Edit: Amazon sells it for $73.99 Shipped

I own the Tripplite it works great. I bought it at Costco for $99. I like the LCD display that reads the input voltage.

Is there an option for "Either one?"

I'm using Cyberpower now because I was on a budget (read: "needed something cheap"). As DaveSimmons said, TrippLite has been around a long time. Cyberpower, while they may be just fine, is a newcomer.

But even big brands can release the most pathetic junk. That said, I've never had problems with any of TrippLite's, Cyberpower's, or APC's products.

Edit: Hopefully your next UPS will actually work. Sucks that you got a dud.

That's good for me as well. I have always gotten Tripplites at Costco. Tripplite was making good electrical controls before Cyberpower or APC were born. :)

Well, I had a power outage today that lasted for over 5 mins. My cyberpower alarm kicked off, my PC was still running and logged of and shut down gracefully. Worked great.
