poll: cover charges?

I went to undergrad at cornell, and we never had cover charges at the bars or at house parties...the way it should be
however, here in syracuse, they charge covers even during non fri/sat days...a cover on a tuesday night!! can you believe that?! they even charged 5 bux for a house party here.

the only difference between cornell and syracuse is that the chix in syracuse are VERY HOT...is that what I'm paying for?
let me know if cover charges are a common thing...what ever happened to comradry and making new friends at a house party instead of trying to profiteer off of it?

the only cover charges I know about at a house party is when you walk in you are basically paying the $5 for a cup which entitles you to all the Milwaukee's Beast you can drink in someone's hot, stinky, dirty, crowded basement.....
