You are not a garlic fan if you use pre minced garlic in a jar

This. Take the 60 seconds and just mash and mince a few cloves and enjoy fresh garlic, the jarred stuff doesn't hold a candle to it.

i keep some on hand as backup, but always use fresh. i swear 3/4 of things consumed in my house have fresh garlic n olive oil as a start.

Jarred minced garlic is the best thing since sliced bread: They both save a lot of effort and both taste like crap. Only use them in rare cases where other ingredients will cover up their flaws.

Here is my "scale of garlic"

fresh garlic, minced > jarred minced garlic > garlic powder.

Jar is good, but not nearly as good as fresh minced.
For cooking "boring food number one", it's fine.
If you're tryin to impress people with a fancy dish, or you want a super delicious meal, then you are best off using your garlic press.
