I have to congratulate the Anand team on providing a clear and realistic view on the new AMD proceesing platform. I'm not bashing Tom's review (hum....yes I am), but it was complete garbage. You could tell it was an extremely rushed and unthought out article. On the otherhand, Anand's team came through again and showed why they are the top review site on the internet(BY FAR). The part that bothers me the most is the inclusion of Quake3 and Unreal Tournament benchmarks in Toms review....What the heck was he thinking. If I'm not mistaken, this is a workstation/server platform, not a gamers platform. How many of us system tweakers could afford the price for it anyway (2cpus, 1GB+ memory, new power supply, possible scsi raid?). With the gaming benchmarks, Tom also included a bunch of synthetic benmarks that prove very little, or support his results. I don't know, but his review just didn't sit well with me at all. I've never seen anyone benchmark an apple, Alpha cpu based system or any other workstation class platform with gaming benchmarks, so why insult the AMD platform with these benchmarks. I'm pretty sure the Anand team played a couple games on the new AMD system (with big grins across their face as the FPS reached sky high levels), but they didn't post them. I've always rated both Andandtech and Toms hardware as the top 2 review sites out, but maybe I was justed blinded. The stuff that is coming out of Toms hardware page in the past 4-6 months has been very sparse and useless. Looks like I'll be jumping off the bus soon. Thanks for the great review.:Q
