dmcowen674 mentions in this thread that he believes that a new civil war will errupt in the US.

Yes, looks like War is brewing in the U.S. itself. Not sure which group or issue will start the guns firing first yet though.

Take a look out the window and then vote.

He does tend to overreact a *tiny* bit

I've been kicking around the idea of launching a coup in my planned community, taking over my HOA, and installing myself as Supreme Benign Dictator of Montgomery Village. Does that count?

EDIT: If anybody wants a piece of this action, PM me. :D

I'll be curious on the outcome of your Poll as well as other Radio Talk show Hosts.

10 years ago this would never even been even a possibilty of a whisper much less a real possibility.

So who's gonna start this "revolution", the violent anti-war crowd?

Gimme a break.

I think the Bible Belters, just about every one of them have guns hanging in the Gun racks in the back of their pick ups.
So are you saying that the "bible belters" are not already in power? Because everyone tells me that the current regime are puppets of the religious right. What's to fight over, the Supreme Coup already granted them the ultimate powers?

They will shoot anyone that tells them there is no God in the U.S. including the ACLU people, etc...

Judge Moore was just fired as is now a Former Judge. The people taking the attack on the Ten Commandments and every other reference to God or religion in the U.S. will interpet his firing as an attack on them. They don't understand Moore went too far in "Promoting" religion in the Courthouse.

Yea, because 10 years ago we had higher unemployment rates, to which you directly link a revolution to.

Alchemize. I'm not a Bible belter but I did want to respond to your nonsense. You said,

"So are you saying that the "bible belters" are not already in power? Because everyone tells me that the current regime are puppets of the religious right. What's to fight over, the Supreme Coup already granted them the ultimate powers?"

Here are a few issues that "Bible belters" feel have not been resolved in their favor.

Abortion, rights of the criminal, death penalty, creationism, gay marriages, immigrant rights, and gun control.

Yes, some of these issues go their way sometimes in some places. Other times they feel like they're taking it in the shorts. The fact that the country is evenly divided on these issues means that the "Bible belters" are just as uncomfortable as the "loose as a goose' crowd.

I know that whole anti gay marriage attitude puts a real damper on your plans.

it will happen, sooner or later.

i wont shoot people because they disagree with me.

the shooting WILL begin however as soon as the government (in the name of fairness) outlaws the practice of what i believe in favor of a government sponsored atheistic view.

civil war(what a misnomer!) will break loose then.

So you're confident that this will happen? Are you talking about religion? You think the government is going to outlaw the practice of religion?

Wow all this talk of Revolution while all 3 branches of the Government are under Conservative Control.Could it be that when the Real Bush started using labels to discredit his opponents he unleashed a firestorm? No more tolerence for those who believe differently even if they are guaranteed that right under the constitution? Even with the Judicial Branch being under the influence of the Conservatives their interpretations of the Constitution doesn't satisfy those on the Far right. Hmmm and now we are trying to institute Democracy in Iraq while at home our democracy is being assailed from all sides. Maybe we should consider gewtting our house in order forst before we start telling others what they should do.

Of course on the other hand maybe it's just the ramblings of self loathing individuals who can't stand the fact that others believe differently that they do. I think I will go with the latter.

Wow just imagine how they would react if the Government was under the control of the Liberals instead of the Conservatives

"It will happen sooner or later."

Hmmm. Maybe. After all, "later" is one hell of a long time. It will not, however, happen within the next 20 years. The question of whether there will be a civil war is a silly one. How will the victor enforce its values? You've got a population that pretty much can't tell you where Nebraska is. They're more worried about who's going to marry Joe Millionaire than separation of powers. I loved the entry about the government enforcing aetheism. Give me a break, why would the government care?

No, no revolution in the foreseeable future.
