I am 24 and recently employed, so I don't have gobs of $$$ to spend. I tend to usually just buy gifts for my parents and maybe a friend or two. I have no siblings. I am single. Should I feel obligated to buy gifts for aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, etc.?

Giving gifts to my mother, my wife's parents, our nephew and my wife's aunt and uncle whose names we drew in the family gift exchange.

Probably going to give my mother a $100 gift certificate to a nice department store so she can go shopping and buy what she wants.

I'll be giving gifts to: My mother, father, sister, brother, 2 cats, my father in law, mother in law, sister in law, husbands godmother(aunt), husbands cousin, husbands cousins 1 yr old baby.


I gave my mother a new watch, and for my dad my mom had already purchased it and put my name on it. My mother in law got LOTS of stuff. and my father in law got a drill press.

SO, various friends, few cousins, mother, father if he's not being a prick. Not inclined to get into specifics. Budget is about $20 for friends, similar for cousins, double for mother, half-to-zero for father.

I'm a University student with my own apartment, I can't afford much! 🙁

I'm giving my mom a CD burner and I'm thinking about the Band of Brothers for my dad.

I'm 20 (hex).

I give gifts to about a dozen friends.

Dad's getting an 802.11g router and a wireless PCMCIA NIC to go with it. I'm taking Mom out shopping the day after Christmas (a recently-started tradition since she usually winds up returning whatever I get her).

mom is a Jehovahs Witness, I save money on her. 😀 My father, not quite sure yet. Probably a nice bottle of cognac. Remy Martin or something like that.

I give gifts to family members.
for my Mother i usually spend 100+, for my brother and sister, around $50, and everyone else it just depends on what I can find. Though this year I spent a bit over for my sister (would up being 100+ for her and her fiance, I got them blue man group tickets)
