1964 Chevy Nova SS oh yeah
1974 Chevy Nova with a 350 V8.

I wouldn't buy anything new from either Chrylser or GM.
Anybody know of a Morris Minor station wagon or Cortina being sold?

Old Boss and Shelby Cobra Mustangs beat Corvettes and Camaros any day.

2nd runner up for ugliest car is the newer body style Camaros. At least Pontiac got the styling right. To bad getting a stick shift in a Pontiac is like pulling teeth. They don't even offer it in at Gran Prix!

BDawg: oh yeah and that boxed off mustang is such a great looking car </sarcasm> give me a break...personally I dont like Camaros, Mustangs, or Firebirds....there are just too many of them out on the road for them to be anything more than just another car.

I like them better than the Camaros...

The sad thing is my SVT Contour will be all but the newest V-8 rustangs in the 1/4 mile. It would win in 0-60 if they geared it correctly.

I laugh ever time I see a mustang or camaro with a V-6 (or even 4 cylander).

<<Old Boss and Shelby Cobra Mustangs beat Corvettes and Camaros any day.>>

They don't beat old Corvettes and Camaros, even back in the day. Heck, they won't even beat new Vettes and Camaros. Even the Boss 429 Mustang was a dog. Loads of potential, but it wouldn't run at all. The new Mustang Cobras would beat it.

FE motors, while great for nostalgia, are good for nothing but boat anchors. They won't hold up if modified, and you can't make that much power out of them anyway.(I'm talking big horsepower, like well over 600) The Lima 429/460 engines (basically copied from the big block Chevy, along with the 351 Cleveland...and yes, Ford admits to it), are far superior to the old FE's.

Ford .... my 87GT had over 133,000 hard miles on it before i built the engine never smoked or made any noise at all, then i overclocked it to a 306 c.i. :)

How can you guys compare giant gas guzalin Ford motors to Chevy's. Chevy's motors have been superiour in the past and are now. Ford has yet to make a really kicka$$ motor !

cablegod- I assume U have seen pics of it and the specs, u can not seriously beleive it will ever be released like that. The truck would cost as much as a cheap Viper. Almost every part on it is custom made.

<<BigLance, looks like you havent been to the local dragstrip in a while. >>

Maybe not, but I have, and other than a bunch of Mustangs on test-n-tune night, you'd have to look pretty hard to find Ford engines in real (not street) race cars.

I think the both suck compared to foreign cars...but between the two, I think chevy is better.

And for you die-hard Chevy lovers--check out the CHevy Prism--you'll love it...(btw Prism is actually a rebadged and slightly redsigned Toyota Corolla, just like the Mercury Villager and Nissan Quest)

Hey Pacfanweb you said:

<<FE motors, while great for nostalgia, are good for nothing but boat anchors>>

I totally disagree, my old 67 F100 yes truck, with a factory stock and original 352 CI FE with only a Holley 600 added ran 9.80 ETs in the 1/8 th, now that is comaparable to and a little faster that the early 90s Mustang GTS with 302s ran, all in a 4000+ pound pickup. I decided to stick with a truck and build it since everone else was in cars and it would be different so I went for a 428 FE and haven't looked back, it runs high 7s in the 1/8th now. I have also built many 429/460 engines for others and I still believe that for CI versus CI the FEs are better at making torque and HP so I don't know where you come up with your claim about boat anchor.

If it's just the two, Chevy. I'd walk first before buying another Ford. One lousy company that simply didn't care about its customers -- they just totally didn't care, at least at the time, and maybe they do now, but I'm not willing to shell out $ to find out again. This was 20 years ago, and I STILL won't consider Ford. Ever. I don't care if they give them away. :|

Well if you take into all the companies Ford owns. I'd say Ford. While the Ford brand doesn't have any sports cars, Ford as a company does have the DB7 and the V12 Vanquish. Of course they are european cars, but uh as I said, its still owned by the Ford Motor company in some way.

Interesting, GM is much larger company that Ford is... So why would you chose Ford based on size ?

Size doesn't matter. Read the rest of the post. I just have bias to euro sport/luxury cars. GM/Ford do have about the same amout of liquid assest. Kinda odd since GM is such a bigger company that such a small company has just as much cash as it, if not more. While on the other hand Chrysler has far far less cash than either Ford or GM.
