We all know Chevy is better, but some still are being obstinent... :D

Oh BTW, I go to College part time (Still in High School) We have to ride this lame Van to college, so we keep track of "dead" cars on the side of the road. Chevy/GM vs. Ford/Mercury.. there is 3 Chevy guys onboard and two Ford guys. Current count is 31 Fords / 13 Chevy's !!

Anyway, lets keep this under control enough it doesn't get locked.... vote away, poll will be up shortly ....

How about we limit the comparison to the respective small-block V-8's. Much more interesting:).

If I was forced to drive a domestic I would actually drive a Ford.

For trucks;

Chevy, b/c they've got a BITCHIN' lineup of new gas/diesel engines.

But Dodge is gonna OWN both of those mofos with the new Hemi based engines. Eat sh!t and die!!! :D

Dodge ?? LOL, have you seen how many people they have laid off.. oh GM is suppost to come out with some new motors too !! Hope they are as good/better than the 350 was (327 etc.) That small block V8 was the best as far as I'm concerned.... I'm not the only one either !

What does that have to do with the cars? Everytime you have a merger there are layoffs because there a duplicate people doing the same job.

Chevy, no contest.

There are more race cars powered by Chevy engines than all others combined.

For a quick way to prove that, go to a weekend race at your local dragstrip. Look at what kind of engines are in 99% of the cars. I think there are far more drag cars than other types of racing, so it's a good place to check.

Case closed.

Not sure about the other new Dodge engines, but the 4.7liter overhead cam v-8 in the Jeeps and Durango's is actually a mercedes engine. That may irritate some people who are big into dodge, but its a great little motor.

Chevy engines are in more cars because parts are cheaper, just about any chevy engine will bolt up to just about any chevy trans rwd ones anyway, and chevy really only has two blocks the small block and the big block where ford has a bunch windsor, Clevlend, FE, and whatever the 429/460 is called and those are just the more known ones and hardly anything is interchangable between them. Its all about money and has little to do with which one is better.

Well lets see, they wouldn't be firing people and shutting down facotries if things were peachy, at least that doesn't make sense. But doesn't matter anyway, GM is a MUCH larger corporation than Dodge... now I know your going to say "What does size have to do with the cars?" But they wouldn't have gotten so large if they weren't the best .... Just a thought !

<<Chevy engines are in more cars because parts are cheaper,>>

Negative. There are more Chevy engines, particularly the small block, because more were built in the first place....because Chevy's were BETTER in the first place, not cheaper.
The cost argument is B.S. now anyway...it's about the same dollar-wise to build a Ford big or small block as a Chevy.
As far as all the different Ford engines, well....nobody told Ford to be dumba$$es and build their V-8's with 4 different bolt patterns for tranmissions and zero interchangability. Yet another reason why Chevy is better.

<<But Dodge is gonna OWN both of those mofos with the new Hemi based engines. >>

I know this says hemi-BASED, but the engine actually isn't a Hemi at all. It's more of a wedge, sort of copied from the big block Chevy.

GM is having problems as well. As a matter of fact they are shutting down an entire line of cars. Say good by to Oldsmobile.

Alot of changes have been happening with Chrysler since Mercedes bought them out, the Plymouth line of cars is going to be going away, but that and plant closures have been talked about since shortly after the buyout because Mercedes wants things run a different way. Most of the top people that ran Chrysler are gone, or so I've been told.

But here is the difference, Chevy CAN dump Olds and still be many times the size of Chrysler, hell they could drop half there stuff and probably be bigger...

I know that size does matter. That is why the top three car makers are Ford, Chevy and VW.:)
