I did once and it got freezerburn -- but I can't imagine having so much cheese that I would freeze it.

So..... I think it's absurd... but to each her own
 
if it is a block of cheese, it really doesn't matter.

if it gets moldy, cut off mold and eat non moldy part.

if it is grated cheese, than freeze it as it is much harder to identify and eliminate just the moldy pieces of grated cheese.

that's just me anyway.

I put my bread in the freezer. I don't eat it fast enough, so if I don't it'll go bad before I finish it.

I think that's a relatively common practice.

it cost $0.80. there are more expensive things that could be taking up freezer space.
