Since all of us here are at the computer most of the day thanks to ATOT, does anyone suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome? Or any other repetitive strees injury?

Me, I dunno. After a long typing session, like a lab report, my right wrist hurts like no other. I hope I'm just not paranoid or something, but it's getting on my nerves.

Both wrists 60% disabled. High vibration air tools for 25 years.
Riding high vibration motorcycles for years.
Shooting very heavy loads with revolvers for years.

My wrists swell up so bad, that a loose wrist watch becomes tight by mid-day.

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with both hands in pins & needles.

Lets talk about tinnitus, the above helped that along to.

Take better care of yourselves than I did ppl.

Is there any type of therapy/exercise to help prevent/recover from carpal tunnel syndrome?

If help is sought at the onset, yes! If it is dismissed, as I did, permanent nerve damage can/will result.

Stretching the tendons of the wrists is something that can be done at station. Put your hands together, as if in prayer, then lift your elbows as high as you can for 10 seconds. Hold the hand down with the other hand, try to make your fingers touch the elbow. Do wrist rotations with lite dumb bells.
There is more on line.

This week I'm setting up my first consultation to see what I've got going on.

My index finger is to the point where I can hardly flex it anymore, and if I can, it's with a lot of pain. My thumb is pretty much down to half the range of motion as well. Loose circulation real easily in my hands as well when I sleep.

A few days ago my right hand started hurting, numb slash pins and needles. I went to the doctor who said it is either a pinched nerve or the startings of CT. She is arranging for me to get the test done soon..in the meantime I'm wearing the wrist brace. I'm avoiding driving until I have to go back to work mid-week, it hurts too much.

I'm 100% wrist pain free thanks to my desk setup. It has a 6" deep pullout drawer under the desktop, which I pull out to rest my elbows on. It's like second nature whenever I sit down the the computer. I can type all day and all night with no pain.
