Poll: Care-uh-bee-un or Cuh-rib-be-un

True. Dictionary.com says both are accepted. I'm just curious about personal preference. I'm inviting you all into the argument currently raging in my office.

But is this a 'I'm going to gun you all down' type argument, or a 'hey we don't have to do work while we figure out how to pronounce caribbean' ? 🙂

Dictionary.com sucks. MSN's Dictionary pwns j00!!! I have it set as my homepage since I'm such a semantics dork.

The first option, Care-uh-bee-un, is correct. The islands were named after the Carib Natives that lived there.

Both pronunciations have been popular though, but historically the first option is the correct one.
