Poll: Can I have it both ways: Fast AND Quiet??

I'm in the process of building a system something like this:

Duron 600 (week 29, 1.5v stock) that I want to pencil clock to ~900
Abit KT7-RAID with 2 IBM 15GB 75GXP @ ATA100
1 stick of Mushkin 128MB PC133 Rev 222
A 32Mb Geforce2 MX video board (Don't know exact board yet...)
SB Live! Value
Fong Kai FK-603 case with 300 watt Antec PP-303X PS

I'm now down to heatsink and case fans and here are my issues:

I think I'm down to an Alpha PAL6035 with a (hopefully) quiet Sanyo Denki Silent (R Type) fan on it. I've read that the Sunon fans cool better, but make more noise. Right now I prefer quiet until maybe I build it and it melts. Since this is a Duron instead of a Tbird, I think (hope) heat will not become a major issue.

The other choice is the Globalwin FOP32-1. I've heard both good and bad on this one. I understand that the clips on both of these coolers are a real pain to get on. I also plan on using the Artic Silver paste on whatever I get.

So the first question is this: What cooler will give me good (not great) cooling and is very quiet and (OK, I'm really reaching now...) is easy to get on?

Next issue is case fans. Different people have said great things about Panaflo L1A fans. Also, the Sanyo Denki Silent (R Type) fan is said to be good and quiet. I also want a 3 pin fan connected to the motherboard so that I may monitor speed.

I think bigger is better, so I plan on whatever I can do to put a 120mm up front in the bottom and another (80mm?) in the top back over that CPU duct. Of course the PS will also have its fan.

Second question: What's the best quiet fan with reasonable cooling?

If you also have a good experience with a dealer that sells the items you recommend, please post it too. I'm new at this, but have been reading about things for a month or two. I guess it's about time to see if I can do this or not... (Sorry about the length of this)

Yep, Panaflows are pretty quiet.

Since you abhor noise, the GlobalWin FOP38 is out i guess. Pity though, that cooler is darn cool.

How about your case ventilation? Getting a Nidec Beta V 0.8 ampere one? :)

Hi,
I have the alpha pal6035 with sanyo denki, they are pretty quiet. I use adda fans for the case fans, 3 80mm. Adda is very silent also. If you get the Antec 300 watt that will make the most noise. If you want to go for a cheaper but just as nice case get the Antec ks282 with the 300 watt power supply. Onvia.com has them for $65 free shipping, just do a search for ks282. That case takes 2 80mm fans so get the Adda fans from www.phamcomputer.com decent prices from both places.

I have never heard of the NIDEC BETA fans nor the ADDA fans. Where might I read about and/or purchase them? Maybe I could also replace the 300 watt power supply fan with something more quiet too? Thoughts or suggestions?

Why not just go watercooling? It works like a charm and it is much more quiet then any air cooling.
