Here's the skinny:

Wolves get: Latrell Sprewell

Knicks get: Keith Van Horn

Philly gets: Glenn Robinson

Hawks get: Terrell Brandon (who will most likely retire).

Who wins in this trade?

My take from the Knicks side:

Pros: A real forward. A forward who can score and shoots better than Spree. More rebounds. Younger. Getting rid of an aging player who relies on speed. Five more inches of height.

Cons: Less assists. Much worse D. Less heart. An extra year of contract.

Summary: I kinda like it. Keith is a forward, Spree is not. For the East, the Knicks have some height... I just hope their D isn't too terrible.

I'm guessing everyone is going to say the Wolves, since they gave up nothing for something, but chime in with your thoughts anyway :)

The Hawks got rid of a black hole who hasn't played a minute of D in his life and get some sorely-needed cap relief.

And not to hate on your team, but from where I stand, the Knicks turned out the worst. They were almost about to get some cap relief but they decided to trade for another undersized "tweener" which they've already got too many of to begin with. Layden is a retard.

The Sixers, however, fare pretty well, because they get Big Dog, who is a more consistent scorer than KVH and will provide more relief for Iverson.

The Hawks did a good job since they're not going anywhere anyways.

And the TWolves? Their lineup is pretty impressive now
1- Cassel
2- Wally Sczerbiak
3- Sprewell
4- KG
5- Olowokandi
Bench: Troy Hudson, Marc Jackson, etc

From a fan standpoint, Sprewell was the only player worth paying money to see play on the Knicks. Houston is as boring as watching paint dry. W/O Sprewell, unless the Knicks actually start winning more games, I see no reason to watch 'em.

I don't know too much about Van Horn, but in terms of charisma, I'm pretty sure he's no Spree.

Since I'm not the biggest Van Horn fan, can someone enlighten me... doesn't he play SF? I've seen reports about the Knicks having too many PFs, which is true... but he played with K-Mart as a SF. Won't he just replace Spree at that position and leave the PF/C position to (here we go)... Kurt Thomas, Clarence Weatherspoon, Othella Harrington, and Michael Sweetney (and McDyess if he ever plays)?

C - Kurt Thomas
PF - Sweetney
SF - Van Horn
SG - Houston
PG - Ward

With a bench of: Spoon, Harrington, Frank Williams (PG), Shandon Anderson, and maybe Lampe.

I think I am starting to cry.

And no, there is now no reason to see the Knicks.

Definitely the T-Wolves got the best part of the trade. Sprewell can play good ball when he wants.

#2 would be Philly. Even though Robinson may not be great on "D", he can't be that much worse than Van Horn, although Van Horn can rebound. Robinson, IMO, is a more athletic and versatile scorer than Van Horn.

Atlanta? Well, what more can I say? If Brandon retires, what did they get but salary cap relief? Wonder how long the current coach lasts? They haven't been successful since Fratello was there.

Layden is a retard.
I really thought he would actually turn NY around. What a failure. Guess Stockton-Malone-Sloan really carried that team with role players. Guess he never learned anything from his Dad either.
