what do you who own it feel, was it worth the $$$?

i paid $34.99 for the game, so an add-on for $29.99 seems high to me, unless it is really good.

thanks

Good thing you gave your reasons as to why you think it's crap.

reason #1: see BF2

not enough new weapons, not enough new maps, no new gameplay modes, more bugs, more patches. you get more in most player made mods than you do with this.

oh yeah, and some of the new weapons can't be used on other teams, even if you unlocked them.

No, because it's garbage

Huge, showstopping bugs can prevent you from even playing the game; performance drops if there's too much action on the screen; resource hog and longer loading times than battlefield 2; ea's new digital distribution service has issues.

Any idea why IGN and Gamespy haven't reviewed it yet? Possibly because they can't say anything positive about it without completely demolishing their credibility, but they also don't want to tarnish their ethically questionable business relationship with EA?

Anyway, after six months the original game still isn't fixed... why the fvck would anyone with a brain and a pulse swallow an expansion that's in even worse shape?

No thanks.

The same reason you rub one. Because it's fun.

Another vote for garbage. I like BF2 (even with the bugs) but a $30 expansion that offers so little and can cause problems? NO thanks.

I hate the way you can't switch to your detonater and click it without it screwing up and going back to a c4 pack.

I hate seeing my AT missles go through a vehicle.

I hate it when I get kicked to desktop.

I hate it when my FPS drops to below 20 on some SF maps.

But you know what? The gameplay is so entertaining that I'm more than happy to deal with these bugs to play. $30 for an expansion that some people think is too small? Sure I'll pay it. Hell I already got more gameplay time out of it than I did FEAR and Quake IV combined.

I can see your point, but I think most people are pissed at this point simply because a new game is released on 6 month old architecture that still has problems... and installation bugs? Come on... this is what... the 6th or 7th title (including expansions) that Dice has released?

I certainly won't argue the gameplay though... BF2 is easily the most addictive gameplay I've experienced. I'd sure love to give SF a go, but I refuse to do it until both it and the original are in a solid state. EA nailed me between the eyes with BF2... I'm not going to let them do it again.

Ummm, yes. it has worked fine for me on several different machines. I think I had one crash that could not be attributed to overclocking. Both my brother-in-law and I could not stay away from BF2 for 4-5 months after its release. Both he and I had to make it a point not to play for the past month because it was taking to much of our time. It is probably the most addicting game I have ever played, but to each his own. The only other games that came close were the original BF and Warcraft 3. Now that I have downloaded SF and played it for a couple of days, the addiction is going to start all over. :disgust:
