Haven't tried the 8500LE yet, but its priced $140 at newegg, where as the retail is $160, is the $20 worth it over the Retail? What are the major difference other than being clocked lower?

Hands down, Radeon 8500 Retail. Incredible power at an incredible price. Most will do 300/300 with little effort, putting them night and day ahead of the GF3 Ti200 and within striking distance of even the GF4 Ti4200.

Could you add an "I don't know, but I'm interested, too." answer. I've been looking into this same question for a couple hours now, and it seems like a retail 8500 is the current best bang for the buck, if you can afford the difference over the GF3ti200.

The ti4200s are coming out when? next month?

8500LE:
1. 230mhz
2. Powered by ATI (not built by ATI) (Depicted as made by Sapphire)
3. More than likely does not include ati dvd player

8500 retail
1. 275mhz
2. Built by ATI (3 year warranty) (at least picture shows it as a built by ATI)
3. All software and cables included

You make the call ;)

"4200" should not be in the list until you can actually BUY one! :frown:

Exactly, thats why I voted for the Radeon 8500 retail but I have the feeling that the 4200 will be better when/if it is ever released.

On top of it all, great image quality!
I'd LOVE to have one.
Oh well, maybe in a little while...

GF4 Ti4200. It'll easily beat a GF3 Ti500 without any overclocking whatsoever.

we seen the review of the 4200 already by anandtech

Have we? Where? I can't see the review anywhere on the front page.

When Anand reviewed the Ti4600 and Ti4400 he underclocked one to Ti4200 speeds, I think that is what is being referenced.

And for the poll... .Ti4200

The GeForce 4 4200 beats the Radeon 8500 Retail hands down have you guys seen the benchmarks in the forums??? apperently not... They can blows the doors off of GeForce3 Ti 500's too!!! They can be over clocked close to Ti 4600 numbers as well btw they should come out some time later this month (April). 64 MB version is $179.99 retail. The 128 MB version is $199.99 retail. I'd go for the 64 MB version though becasue it has highier clock speeds giving it a few more FPS. =)

Id hafta say 8500 Retail, until the Ti4200 show up, at that point, I guess the 4200 will destroy everything in that price range.
