Um...it's "Indiana Jones", not "Indian Jones". You should also have two separate Star Wars entries, one for each trilogy.

We should host an AT meet, seal the doors and windows, and ask this question. Hilarity ensues. :)

lol, lotr owns the competition. I voted for Godfather. It's tied with old Star Wars but I voted Star Wars in the last one of these I think so it's Godfather's turn :p

All males shall be scrubbed down, by bristles on 10-foot-long poles, then doused in de-lousing powder and old spice. :)

LOTR for the sheer talent in creating all the creatures to fit the story.

Indian Jones in a close second for the fact that it is still very watchable and funny.

I voted LOTR, I really believe it's an outstanding trilogy, but so is the Godfather.

The others, some are well done, and entertaining, but they aren't in the same league.

Hey! I used a picky tag! :p Besides, wouldn't it be smart to count the old star wars trilogy as separate from the new one?

LotR - Good action movies, and very entertaining, but not the best trilogy ever
Matrix - Good first movie?
Indiana Jones - The best action trilogy ever, great plots, great acting, great movies. My vote for best trilogy ever.
Godfather - Inconsistant. Great movies, but not a great trilogy.
Star Wars - Classics, but the plots were kind of weak, and Lucas milking it for so long has tainted them.
Naked Gun - Funny, but not best trilogy of all time.
Back to the Future - fizzled after the first one
Terminator - Good, consistant movies. Great action, bad plots and bad acting, if you call that acting.
Die Hard - One was good, two was ok, what was the third one??? This is from someone who owns the whole trilogy :p
Alien - I assume you mean the first 3 :p After watching the SEs of the quadrilogy, they were all very good movies, but the plots were too similar. Top 10 trilogy material, but not #1
Jurassic Park - First one was da bomb, second was OK, but not at all like the second book? Third movie was, well, horrible. I mean, can you even call that a movie? Plus, Spielburg's blatant racism was just disgusting.

Left out trilogies - Jaws, Austin Powers, Batman (kind of), Home Alone :p, Silence of the Lambs (Hannibal, Red Dragon), Scary Movie, Lethal Weapon (quadrilogy, but whatever;)), American Pie, Scream (best horror trilogy?)

Oh, btw, I like movies if you couldnt tell ;) I've seen all these movies, and own most of them, so I know at least somewhat of what I am talking about :p my DVD collection.

LOTR followed closely by the Godafather and Star Wars. A distant but still respectable position belongs to Indiana Jones. If Terminator or Alien could have had a decent 3rd movie, they probably would have been serious contenders because their second films were even stronger than the first ones.

:p I suppose if you want to get REALLY picky, you're right. However, the previous several threads on this topic had "old star wars" and "new star wars", that's why I mentioned it.

The second one wasn't so hot.(Temple of Doom) The other two were great though.

I'm not really a fan of star wars, but I would have to say Star Wars was the best trilogy. They were 3 disctinct stories, but each sequel gracefully continued off the previous. And the storyline and acting was well done.

The Lord of the Rings was more like 1 big movie to me - that had to be broken up because of it's length. Great movies though.

Indiana Jones had 3 distinct stories that other than Indiana, had nothing to do with each other.

Back to the Future was good, I didn't think the 3rd one was that great but they all lead into each other. It was a true trilogy.

I suppose Star Trek 2, 3, and 4 could be considered a trilogy.
