Kobe, by far. Defense, clutch shooting, leadership, drive to be the best, he has it all. 5 triple doubles already this year too.

Who can carry the team on his back and who can't? McGrady has no Shaq...

but you also have to keep in mind that with shaq, the lakers have less salary to push around to get a better supporting cast... keep this in mind too... the magic were put together with a run and gun game in mind running with t-mac and g-hill... they were developed as a team for perimeter players, whereas the lakers got shaq while they developed kobe, and structured their game around shaq. you're telling me that if they geared the team towards people who could support kobe better kobe wouldn't be able to carry the team? please...........

Kobe Bryant and Tracy McGrady are very close, too close to call,

but because of Bryant's defensive skills, I'm picking Kobe.

McGrady has defensive skills. He just chooses not to use them because he is lazy so I agree with your choice. I had to choose MJ though...

I didn't say McGrady didn't possess defensive skills. My contention is that Kobe is bit better on defense than Tracy.

Nevertheless, they both are great young players.

Rose and Hassell are the starting 2/3 for the Bulls, but their positions aren't well define. Jalen plays more SG on offense (he is the secondary ball-handler behind JWill), but on defense, Hassell will guard the better of the SG or SF, and Jalen gets the other guy.

Number-wise it doesn't show, but Desmond Mason should be up there.

As much as I despise him, my vote goes to Kobe. I think T-Mac is better offensively, but his D needs work. I've seen highlights of him being lazy on D numerous times.

read up. and the triangle is not geared around individual players, therefore it hampers kobe's true abilities... focuses more on perimeter shooting... and kobe can slash and finish just as good if not better than tmac... not to say tmac doesn't have a sense for how to do whatever he needs to do to put the ball in the basket... kobe is just better at it...

here's another reason why kobe takes the nod over tmac:

tmac is often injured and misses quite a few games.

another factor is that tmac has shooters on this team that keeps the defense spread out and prevents the lane from getting clogged up, while kobe always has to deal with crowded defense due to shaq's presence in the middle.
