Kind of depressing, though. :-D

Love the beginning "One, two, FREE FOUR!!!" :D

I love so many of those. And this doesn't even include Roger Waters' solo albums - Amused to Death is an all-time great.

I chose Shine On You Crazy Diamond.

So many good ones. I voted 'One of These Days' because I do like it, though maybe not my undisputed favorite, but due to the relative obscurity of the song. Style is completely different, too (not like piper, though).
Actually, now that I think about it, it doesn't sound anything like the rest of Meddle....

I bought the Roger Waters - In The Flesh DVD. At first I thought ... what the hell is this guy doing, pretending to be David Gilmour. And this other, thinking he's Nick Mason. Oh, and you, bald guy! Richard Wright would kick your ass.

But after some time, I got used to them and I'm really enjoying it. Jon Carin really stands out in Dogs. And the guitar dudes aren't that bad either. But still, it's not the same thing.

BTW, I voted for Lost for Words because I love it and it's completely underated (especially because of the Division Bell prejudice).

Did you get the David Gilmour DVD? It's pretty sweet. David looks like he gained some weight, but that's OK. He sounds really good! :D

Day after day, love turns grey, like the skin of a dying man,
and night after night, we pretend it's all right,
but I have grown older, and you have grown colder
and nothing is very much fun any more...

I voted for "One of my Turns" because I knew nobody else would and it's too dark and depressing a song to be overlooked completely. But picking out one favorite PF song is impossible. Even narrowing it down to a top 20 of songs I alsolutely love would be a tough chore. There are just too many classics.

I can't believe that "Money" is beating "Time"...

Money was the worst song on that album!

I love the line:
Don't look so frightened
This is just a passing phase
One of my bad days

and
Cold as a razor blade

Because non-fans vote too and they'll always vote for hits, not the good stuff. Everyone knows Money, but only Floyd fans know Time, Free Four, If, Dogs, The Trial, Several Species... and all the other incredible tunes that don't get airplay on oldies stations. If you have a poll for the Stones Satisfaction will win easily because it's the song non-fans know. Same for Stairway to Heaven for Led Zep, Truckin' for the Dead and Born to Be Wild for Steppenwolf.

And you're right, Money was by far the worst song on that album. But I'd have a hard time choosing between Time and Brain Damage/Eclipse as the best.

I just don't like 'money' at all. I have heard 'Time' on the radio, though.
'Cashemere' for Led Zeppelin, and I've got 3 albums :p

On the turning away. Classic!:)

post Waters.

Point being?

Some would consider that "not really Floyd"
However if you're going to be that way then it's post Barret as well so "not really Floyd" either. ;)

I would say that Wish You Were Here is thier most approachable hit. everybody loves it. That being said, depending on my mood I'm generally playing either Animals or Dark Side of the Moon.

all this talk of flowing albums and NO MENTION of Animals???????? I couldn't pick one song, and as far as member changes, you hear it more on the album than you do live, to hear Dogs of War right after Astronomy Domine LIVE is to hear the extreme similarity, totally bridges the time gap. One of if not my favorite all time bands, won't bother checking the list against my collection to see what was not included, are the songs from the extra disc in the 10cd box set included in your list????? How about a little Floyd trivia...... Original name of See Emily Play?? Bonus points for anyone who knows the story that led to the title change........

I voted for Dogs, but I must admit that even as many times as I've heard it, Nobody Home can still give me goosebumps.
