70's baby!!!! Clapton alone makes it the best, let alone Foreigner, CCR, and Kansas.

It's too bad you did'nt divide it by half decades.

I'd say 65-75. Starts with Janis/hendrix/zepplin/etc and ends with Fleetwood mac/Eagles.

My complaint as well. My decade as well. Beatles/Stones/Who/Zepp/Pink Floyd etc...

That's definitely more 60's than 70's

Well by Beatles I also meant their solo careers... the other bands had careers that started in the 60s and carried over to the 70s.

I'm going '70's ,too.
Early Journey, Weather Report, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Steely Dan, Yes, Pink Flyod....
This was music by people who had something to say other than waaa waaa.
Made on synthesizers that required a little more interaction than simply pushing a button and getting a beat.

Most tunes I like are from the early '70s, but most groups or artists I like started their careers in the '60s.

exacly the term "Musical Generation" is what i have problems with. i like different bands from the different generations, but "musical generation" implys to me what the main-stream liked. and that would be "none".

thinking for example 90ies: is that grundge, techno, crossover, hiphop or boygroups?

so i can't really answwer the question (too bad;) )

Beatles,Stones,Cream,Hendrix,Who,Doors,Kinks,Santana,CCR,Airplane,Tull,Zeppelin,Elton John,Byrds,Dylan,Animals,Beach Boys come to mind. Note that all these bands were created in the 60's. Some never made it to the 70s, but others had bigger hits in the 70s. So my vote is for the 60s, since it really spawned a whole genre of music...
