Tell what you guys are using. I'm using dap 4 and would say it was the best accept it doesn't auto resume when a server timeouts which seems to happen alot when your downloading a big file.

It's the only reason I have Get Right installed because it can!

Gozilla with the spyware remover. I use it sometimes if I need to download a lot of... emmm... "Educational" files from certain websites. ;) :p

Getright. I hate the others cause of the ads

Well Getright is "registered" so I don't get ads and I only use it when I need to download big "educational" files as well ;)

SSP, where did you find the "spyware remover" for Gozilla? I actually like Gozilla the best but I hate the fact that they require you to install all the spyware otherwise it won't work. Well, i'm going to search for some security related material now since I know it's out there somewhere, I hope.

dap would be the greatest if it had auto resume. I always walk away and come back and see that dreaded dap error message. Gozilla and getright will auto resume like 99 times to get the file down.

Yes, for cable or dsl it can double your download speed. Since you download from serveral sites at once your not limited to the bottlenecks if one server slows down. A friend with cable uses it and it makes a difference. He normally downloads at 150KB but with dap he gets 300KB.

Note: KB stands for kilobytes not kilobits

I use DAP, with the ads "removed" I tried a bunch but many were so close in performance that I just chose DAP. It makes a huge difference downloading for me (with one-way cable modem)

Gozilla Version 3.5.

I had their latest version and it is horribly bloated. I uninstalled it and went back to 3.5.

It works fine for me. However, I never was able to sucessfully delete the "spyware" and have it work properly.

Get right is more stable, but i will probably go back to DAP when the bugs are ironed out.

I posted this exact thing in the Software forum about 5 minutes after you, I think. ;)

I can only say from my personal experience that Go!Zilla blows...(Spyware). I'm looking to try one of the others soon...sounds like either GetRight or DAP.

I´v tried them all and netvampire is the best, then comes getright, the others are just bunchof crap, except DA, which is handy as a seccond manager, but netvampire allways first.

Getright, Gozilla, Flashget, and Net Vampire all have the Radiate spyware installed with them. You should also realize if you have these programs and uninstall them the radiate software remains on your system. To get rid of Aureate and other nasties from your computer go here.

I've been using Getright for well over 3 years now. Has some more bugs than it used to, but can also do a lot more.
